French Rip software provider Caldera has introduced its latest Rip solution for direct-to-film (DTF) and direct-to-garment (DTG) printing for both beginners and professionals in the industry.
Prior to the latest solution, the software was only available in bundles from selected DTF and DTG printer OEMs. Now, the new Rip will be rolled out for the garment decoration market, providing a solution that allows users to offer full customisation for printed apparel creators, printers and producers for ‘unique’ pieces and small batch print runs.
Caldera said the latest software offers an expanded range of features compatible with Windows and MacOS. The software can be used for applications such as t-shirts, hoodies, sports apparel, hats, bags, flags and banners, and is compatible with different file formats: BMP, PSB, PSD, PNG, TIF/TIFF, PDF, AI and JPEG files.
With an interface that is easy to use, the software focuses on features that matter most in DTF and DTG printing, stated Caldera. It includes built-in self-training guides, making it easier for beginners and experts to learn and improve their DTF and DTG skills in an autonomous way – with the ability to access Caldera’s knowledge base directly within the interface.
The software can also handle white ink precisely, said the company. This is possible through the use of its white management tools and measurements, while the print management features include ready-to-use presets built by experts. Additionally, users can preview their designs before printing, allowing them to spot potential errors and save time.
Caldera’s Rip includes file preparation tools, such as automatic image mirroring within the interface, and a range of colour management tools. The software introduces initial functionality for spot colour conversion and fine-tuning, a knockout tool and management of up to 12 inks, including fluorescents, varnish, gloss and pre-treatments.
“We’ve made the interface really intuitive and easy to use,” said Sebastien Hanssens, VP marketing and operations at Caldera. “We’ve focused on the features that matter most for DTF and DTG users, designing the product to simplify the creation of accurate apparel decoration designs that align with a brand’s colours. This not only saves users significant time, allowing them to complete more orders, but it also helps beginners to learn and improve DTF/DTG skills with its integrated educational content.”
