Premier Textiles, importers of fabrics, yarns and finished fabrics, has added three members, John Burgess, Alexina Willers and Mike Haworth-Hodgkinson, to its growing team.

Mr Burgess has become the company’s import logistics coordinator while Alexina Willers and Mike Haworth-Hodgkinson join as accounts office supervisor and finance assistant respectively.

Premier Textiles was founded in 1981 and has more than 50,000 sqft of modern warehousing space in Stockport and Bury. Premier Textiles employs more than 40 people across its group of businesses. The group’s other core companies are Premier Digital Textiles, Bancroft Soft Furnishings and Premex Solutions, which opened a new 10,000 sqft warehouse in Atlanta last year to service the growing demand of the digital print ready fabric market in North America.

Commenting on the appointments, group managing director, Ashok Kallumpram, highlighted the three as important additions to the businesses. Describing them as an investment into a growing team, Mr Kallumpram believes the new additions will ensure that Premier Textiles’ remains at the forefront of innovation and sustainability while continuing to drive value partnerships with customers and suppliers.

Joining Premier Textiles from the clothing industry, Mr Burgess has described the team as very welcoming and is excited to join a well-established business that lives by its values each day.

Having worked for Country Gates prior to joining Premier Textiles, Ms Willers has expressed the opportunity to work with the company as an honour, and looks forward to seeing the company develop and working with all its customers around the world.

Mr Haworth-Hodgkinson said of his appointment, ‘It’s been a real joy to join Premier Textiles. Taking on the role of finance assistant was part of a complete career change for me, and both my colleagues and senior team have been extremely supportive and welcoming.
